What age can kids start surfing?
Children can start from around 5 years old. Our kids’ group lessons are tailored to each child’s age, ability and confidence, so they progress safely and have fun doing it.
Are surf lessons safe for children?
Safety is our priority. Lessons are run by experienced, accredited instructors in shallow, controlled conditions at beginner-friendly beaches, with a high instructor-to-child ratio and a strong focus on ocean awareness and surf safety, backed by a documented risk assessment. Calmer spots like Narrabeen are especially good for younger or first-time surfers.

What should kids bring?
Swimmers, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, water and something warm for afterwards. We provide the surfboard and wetsuit.
