HI Matt

On behalf of the Surfhour Challenge team I wanted to thank you for your generous support and involvement in the inaugural Surfhour Challenge.

The event was incredibly successful in its first year with 70 participants, 400 donors and has so far raised over $28,000. The money raised will be divided equally between the our two nominated charities, The Gidget Foundation and Surfaid International.

Along with our aim of raising money for charity we also wanted to unite the surfing and watersports communities by participating in a fun event with friends and family.

In particular the interest you took in it from the start meant we could get it off the ground and of course the advertising of the event through your facebook contacts meant we could get the word out to the surfing community.

We could not have done it without your support (especially in the early stages when we were working out what to do!) and thanks very much for the the surf lessons donated which were given as prizes to people who did fundraising for the event.

The event was promoted via Channel 10, APN Media, Coastalwatch, Surfing NSW, Pam Burridge Surf School, the Manly Daily, the Wentworth Courier, Aquabumps and Sprout Daily. Our other sponsors and prize donators included Peter’s Icecream, Hotys Cinemas, Surf Dive ‘n Ski, Surf Composites, Global Surf Industries, Rancan Sisters Fitness, Surfection Mosman, Physiocise, Next Media, Ocean and Earth and the North Narrabeen Wax Company.

Once again, thank you for your generous support and we look forward to continuing the partnership with you next year for the second annual Surfhour Challenge.

Regards
Martelle and the Surfhour challenge team,  Jules Walsh, Stephanie Hughes and Jules Duthie.

Beach Walk for Brain Cancer

The Beach Walk for Brain Cancer was held on Sunday 25th of November. Manly Surf School is proud to have been a part of the event. We donated surf lesson vouchers that went into the fundraising auction. 1300 people participated in walking the route from Shelly Beach to South Curl Curl and we are really excited to inform you that the event raised over $100,000.
